That’s right, folks. Toyota USA has a new advertising tie-in with a certain twintailed, leek-loving digital celebrity. I’m having a whole lot of trouble keeping my jaw off of the floor here.
That said, I don’t see this airing on TV any time soon, unless maybe it’s in an anime block or channel. I think it’s very likely to be an up-front ad when watching anime on Youtube or Crunchyroll or Hulu, and we’ll probably see it played on the big screen at AX before the masquerade or something like that. Maybe we’ll see it up-front on DVDs in the trailer block, as well. But yeah, it IS cut to the right length for a TV spot, but it’s gotta be meant for targeted markets.
I haven’t really talked about it here, but I’m a pretty big car guy, or at least used to be. Too bad it’s a Toyota, they’ve gotten so boring since they killed off the MR2, the Celica, and especially the Supra. They sure as heck gained some interesting points here, though.
