A cooking post? Holy crap!
Anyway, I’m rewatching Rozen Maiden with the GF since it looks like a new season is finally coming soon. In Rozen Maiden, the main character Jun’s sister, Nori, often makes this dish, known as “Hanamaru Hamburger” or “Flowery Hamburger,” and the dolls love it, especially Hinaichigo. I’ve always wanted to try making it.

DetailsJust got my Mabel from LeekeWorld! I’d been wanting a smaller doll in the “MSD” range for a while, so it was great when a friend pointed out this one without knowing I was actually in the market. She’s a 40cm, and her measurements are very similar to a Volks MSD, so finding clothes shouldn’t be a nightmare, and I really liked some of Leeke’s promotional photos of her.

Noted otaku merchandise dealer Toys Logic hosted their second annual Go!Figure event last weekend, at their warehouse in Concord, CA. The event was sort of a mini-convention, with Toys Logic’s warehouse open and doing business, and several tables were set up outside with merchandise from other sellers, which included an area in which individuals could put their pre-owned items up for sale. There was also a cosplay presence, which included a contest. Turnout for the event was quite good, apparently twice what the first event saw, and notably included what was probably the highest ratio of photographers to other attendees I’ve ever seen! (Seriously, just about the whole cosplay photographer population of Northern California turned out!)

DetailsSo it’s already the Fall 2012 season, and we’ve been checking out some of the new shows. Only a few have aired so far, so there will likely be at least one more part to this review. These are just first episode impressions, and I’m more than likely to drop some of these shows as…
DetailsTata’s Paradise is a BJD/DD accessory company based in China. They make everything from leather pants to earrings, but some of their coolest and most popular items are their very elaborate kimono sets. They’re always making new versions of these, in all kinds of sizes, styles, and colors. This one was actually bought by my GF…
DetailsAs those of you following the site may have noticed, I haven’t updated the site much in the past few months. Moving to a new apartment has been the big factor in that, mostly because I don’t have a photo setup yet at the new place, but I’ve also been out of town working, and…
DetailsI think we’ve had four meets in SF now. We held it at Tan Tan tea house, which is a cool little location, but we only had an hour there and it turned out not to be anywhere near enough time. We had a special guest for this one, the master Dollfie Dream collector known as Wolfheinrich, but his dolls aren’t in this set because our location closed right around the time he arrived.
